Inter-governmental Commission of Economic and Trade Cooperation between Afghanistan- Iran

The fifth Session of the Inter-governmental Commission of Economic and Trade Cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on August 10th, 2016 in Tehran, Iran.
The session was co-chaired by Minister of Finance, with the participation of government representatives of both countries.
The parties met in a friendly environment where they discussed how to improve and strengthen trade and economic relations between Afghanistan and Iran. Both parties reaffirmed further expansion and strengthening of trade and economic relations between the two countries, and also emphasized the key role of the Joint Commission to achieve their mutual goals.
At the end of the session the 5th protocol of the Inter-governmental Commission of Economic and Trade Cooperation between the two countries was signed. The protocol consists of areas of cooperation in transport and transit, customs, oil and gas, water and energy, higher education and many various sections.
